PhD, holds a diploma in Marine Biology and a doctoral degree in Cultural Studies. He has written several works of non-fiction and magazine feature articles. As an independent scholar, Andreas explores the understandings of life-as-meaning or "Biopoetics" in science and in the arts. In 2013 he published Enlivenment. Towards a fundamental shift in the concepts of nature, culture and politics, edited by the Heinrich Böll Foundation. Andreas sees the paradigm Enlivenment as allowing for new impulses to deepen the cultural dimension of sustainability. His most recent book is The Biology of Wonder.
